VAT Consultants Ltd is owned and run by me, Kevin Andrews, after serving for 17 years with HMR&C (originally HMC&E).
I’m not one to blow my own trumpet but I guess I must for this unfamiliar arena.
I’m not overly tech savvy; self-taught and this is my first effort at building a web site. I hope it works for you.
My route to becoming an independent VAT Consultant through HMR&C was from Waterguard / Preventive (uniformed Customs Officer at Dover) including, Chief Engineer H M Cutter Service; Lead Vehicle Search Trainer, training HMR&C and Kent Police Officers; Senior Officer VAT.
Since running my own Consultancy, I have worked directly to VAT registered traders large and small as well as with and through their accountants.
Many of my cases have been for “Indian” Restaurants but also Italian, Chinese, Fish and Chips …. Etc
Other case areas include Land and Property, Building, Education, Contract Catering, Retail and latterly and ongoing a Government Department of State.
In addition to Consultancy Services I offer help and advice with; Assessments and Penalties, Civil procedures (Local Appeals and Tribunals), CoP 9 and Criminal Fraud.
My latest Criminal Fraud case, in which I worked as the VAT/Tax specialist member of the defence team, resulted in full acquittal after a Crown Court Jury found my client not guilty on all charges, this was an Indian Restaurant Case.
You can see that I have a very wide experience in VAT and am not phased by big or small businesses. When all is boiled down it’s just the size of the numbers that differentiates a small and a large business, the principles and technicalities are very much the same.
